Description

Titebond II Premium Wood Glue is the leading single - part wood glue that meets the ANSI Type II water - resistance standard. It's perfect for outdoor woodworking like outdoor furniture, birdhouses, mailboxes, planters, and picnic tables. This glue offers a strong initial hold, fast setting speed, high strength, and great sandability. It's FDA - approved for indirect food contact, suitable for cutting boards, and works well with radio frequency (R - F) gluing systems. Features include being the first one - part wood glue to pass ANSI Type II water - resistance, excellent sandability, FDA approval for indirect food contact, easy water cleanup, exterior use design, being unaffected by finishes, and ideal for R - F and hot press gluing systems.

Using Titebond II Premium Wood Glue is straightforward. First, make sure the application temperature is above 55ºF. You have 3 - 5 minutes (at 70ºF and 50% RH) for open assembly and 10 - 15 minutes in total for assembly. Spread the glue to approximately 6 mils or cover 250 square feet per gallon. Apply enough clamping pressure to bring joints tightly together - 100 - 150 psi for softwoods, 125 - 175 psi for medium woods, and 175 - 250 psi for hardwoods. You can use plastic bottles for fine applications, or spread it with a roller spreader or brush. Clean up with a damp cloth while the glue is wet, and scrape off and sand dried excess. This glue isn't for continuous submersion or use below the waterline, nor for structural or load - bearing applications. Don't use it when the temperature, glue, or materials are below 55°F. Since it has a low pH, it may cause corrosion on metal surfaces, so test it first. Freezing may thicken the glue, but agitation can restore it. It's a good idea to test for adhesion on treated lumber. Read the MSDS before use. Keep it from freezing and out of the reach of children. If you get it in your eyes or on your skin, follow the first - aid instructions on the label.
