Description

The Elite EVS lathes are a marvel of engineering, bringing big - scale features into a compact design. Ideal for schools, small workshops, and engineering labs, they offer a perfect blend of power and precision. These lathes are built with certified Meehanite® castings, an electro - magnetic brake, a three - jaw chuck, ball - bearing - mounted steady and follow rests, and CNC - style lighting with an enclosed splash guard. They're truly in a class of their own and are CSA/CUS Certified. Key features include a 4 - Position Carriage Stop, standard chuck guards for enhanced safety, a front - facing chip pan for easy chip removal, hardened and ground gears in the headstock to minimize vibration and deflection, an inverter drive system for infinitely variable spindle speeds, an LED RPM readout for precise turning, and a two - speed gearbox that offers a wide range of speeds from 40 - 365 RPM to 165 - 2000 RPM.

Using the Elite EVS lathe is straightforward. First, make sure the machine is properly plugged into a 230V 3Ph power source. Check the amperage draw, which is 19 amps, to ensure your power supply can handle it. Before starting, adjust the spindle speed according to your needs. You can use the inverter drive system for infinitely variable speeds, and the LED RPM readout will help you set the exact speed. For different threading tasks, the lathe offers a variety of thread options, both in inches and metric. When using the lathe, always keep the chuck guards in place for your safety. The front - facing chip pan is there to collect chips, so make sure to empty it regularly to keep the machine clean. To maintain the lathe, check the gears in the headstock periodically. Since they're hardened and ground, they should last a long time, but a visual inspection can help catch any potential issues. Also, keep an eye on the spindle and other moving parts for signs of wear. If you notice any problems, stop using the lathe and contact a professional for repair. And remember, this product has a Prop 65 warning, so take appropriate precautions to avoid exposure to substances that may cause cancer and reproductive harm.
