Lasers play a crucial role in the early construction stages, with measurement needs varying by application. The Makita 12V max CXT® Lithium-Ion Self-Leveling Cross-Line/4-Point Green Beam Laser (SK106GDZ) offers a cordless solution. It provides selectable horizontal/vertical cross reference lines and 4-point functionality for leveling, aligning, plumbing, and squaring tasks. Depending on the ambient light, the line is visible up to 115' and detectable up to 262' with a Makita Laser Detector (sold separately). This laser features a bright 525 nm class II green laser, delivering best-in-class accuracy of +/-1/8” at 33'. The laser line fan offers 180-degree horizontal and 160-degree vertical lines for full coverage. It achieves self-leveling line stability in just 3 seconds, boosting productivity. All 12V max CXT® cordless tools are compatible with the 12V max CXT® Lithium-Ion 4.0Ah battery (BL1041B) for longer run time. The 12V max CXT® lithium-Ion batteries have a Battery Protection Circuit to prevent overloading, over-discharging, and over-heating. It's part of the expanding 12V max CXT® series, combining high performance with great ergonomics in a compact size. For 18V LXT® battery users, the SK106GDZ has a power connector port to use an 18V LXT® battery with the Power Source Adapter (ADP05) and Adapter Cord (sold separately).

Using the Makita 12V max CXT® Lithium-Ion Self-Leveling Cross-Line/4-Point Green Beam Laser is straightforward. First, choose the appropriate battery. You can use the 12V max CXT® Lithium-Ion 2.0Ah battery that comes with it or the 12V max CXT® Lithium-Ion 4.0Ah battery (BL1041B) for longer run time. If you have an 18V LXT® battery, you can use it with the Power Source Adapter (ADP05) and Adapter Cord (sold separately). When starting the laser, it will self-level in up to 3 seconds. Select the horizontal/vertical cross reference lines or the 4-point function according to your task. The simplified one-button user interface makes operation easy. When working, keep in mind that the line visibility range is up to 115' depending on ambient light, and it can be detected up to 262' with a Makita Laser Detector. For safety, always use genuine Makita batteries and chargers. The battery has a protection circuit to prevent overloading, over-discharging, and over-heating. During transport and storage, use the integrated pendulum lock to protect the laser diode. The laser has an IP 54 rating for dust and water resistance, but try to avoid exposing it to extreme conditions. To maintain the laser, keep the highly protected laser windows clean. You can use a soft cloth to wipe them. The rubberized housing over-mold provides extra protection, but still handle the laser with care. It comes with a 3-year limited warranty, so if you encounter any problems, contact the Makita service team.
