You can use the built-in laser to clearly see the line of cut. The on-off switch and micro - adjustments help you make precise cuts either 'left - of - blade' or 'right - of - blade'. When cutting, the Automatic Speed Change™ technology will adjust the cutting speed and torque for the best performance. You can miter from 0 - 52° left and right and bevel from 0 - 46° left and right, and there are miter detents at 0°, 15°, 22.5°, 30° and 45° left and right to help you with accurate angles. When cutting different materials like wood and aluminum extrusion, remember that for aluminum, you need to buy an aluminum blade and cutting lubricant separately. Some important things to note: Only use genuine Makita batteries and chargers. The Star Protection Computer Controls™ protect the tool from overloading, over - discharging and overheating, but still don't push the tool beyond its limits. For maintenance, keep the tool clean.
