Using your Makita 18V LXT® Cordless 6-1/2" Circular Saw is easy. First, make sure you have a compatible 18V Lithium-Ion battery (sold separately) and insert it into the tool. Adjust the cutting depth and bevel angle according to your needs. Hold the saw firmly with the rubberized soft grip handle and start the motor. Then, guide the saw smoothly along the cutting line. When changing the blade, turn off the tool and use the on - board blade wrench. Keep the flat motor housing on a stable surface for better safety. Remember to charge the battery using the Rapid Optimum Charger (sold separately). The charger will communicate with the battery's built - in chip to optimize battery life. Don't leave the battery on the charger for too long. Also, avoid overloading, over - discharging, and over - heating the tool. This is protected by Star Protection Computer Controls™, but it's still good to use the tool within its limits. After each use, clean the saw and store it in a dry place. With proper use and maintenance, your saw will serve you well for a long time.
