Using the Brave forward plate compactor is straightforward. First, make sure the engine is properly fueled with the recommended gasoline and the oil level is correct. Start the engine following the Honda GX160's starting instructions. When using it on loose, granular soils, simply guide the compactor over the area you want to compact. For asphalt work, fill the water tank to prevent the asphalt from sticking to the base plate. If you're doing paving jobs, you can attach the optional polyurethane pad. As for maintenance, check the engine oil regularly and change it as recommended by Honda. Inspect the base plate and vibrator assembly for any signs of wear.
