Upgrade your forklift's capabilities with Star Industries fork extensions! These extensions allow you to extend the forks and handle bulky and awkward loads with ease. Installation and removal are a breeze, taking just seconds. Here are some key facts: The overall length of the fork extension should not exceed 150% of the fork length, and the inside width must not be more than ½' wider than the fork. Remember, forklift capacity is significantly reduced when the load center moves beyond the standard 2 ft. load center. Don't pick up loads with the tip of the fork extensions, and always center the load on the extensions or closer to the backstop. We offer three models: 1664 (72″ overall length, fits 4″ x 48″ forks, 120 lbs per set), 1665 (72″ overall length, fits 5″ x 48″ forks, 140 lbs per set), and 1666 (72″ overall length, fits 6″ x 48″ forks, 160 lbs per set). Safety is crucial: always install retaining pins behind the heel of each fork and secure them with hairpins or cotter pins, and use safety chains.

Using these fork extensions is easy. First, quickly install them on your forklift forks. You can do this in just seconds. When handling loads, make sure the load is centered on the fork extensions or closer to the backstop. Don't pick up the load with the tip of the extensions. Keep in mind that the overall length of the extension shouldn't go over 150% of the fork length, and the inside width shouldn't be more than ½' wider than the fork. Also, when the load center moves beyond the standard 2 ft. load center, the forklift's capacity goes down a lot. For safety, always install retaining pins behind the heel of each fork and secure them with hairpins or cotter pins. Use safety chains too. After use, check the extensions for any signs of damage like cracks or bends. Clean them regularly to keep them in good shape. If you notice any problems, replace the extensions right away.
