Description
The PL1500 Pipe Lift is our smallest vertical pipe - lifting clamp, yet it's a real workhorse for big jobs. It has a 1500 - pound capacity and fits pipes with an outside diameter ranging from 4.50 inches to 9.05 inches. You can use it to lift 4', 6', and 8' PVC, STEEL, Ductile Iron or C900 PVC pipes. This lifter uses scissor action to reverse the power of gravity, clamping securely on pipes. It boosts productivity compared to using straps or teacups. One operator can easily grab, lift, and move pipes without help. Its unique wide scissor - grip design allows for a secure lift even when the pipe isn't centered. The machine operator just places the tongs on the pipe, and the legs grip tightly. They won't release until the pipe is firmly set down. The tongs are rubber - lined for a secure grip on smooth surfaces. PL1500 through PL3500 are 30' wide, while the PL4500, PL7000, and PL8500 are 36' wide. Note that pipe outside diameter and weight determine the right lifter. The PL1500 weighs 200 lbs and has dimensions of 42 × 42 × 24 in.
Using the PL1500 Pipe Lift is a breeze. First, make sure the pipe you want to lift is within the 4.50 - 9.05 inches outside diameter range and doesn't exceed the 1500 - pound capacity. Then, simply set the tongs of the lifter down onto the pipe. The legs will automatically grab on tightly due to the scissor - action design. You can then lift and move the pipe to your desired location. Once you've reached the destination, set the pipe down firmly, and the tongs will release. When using this lifter, always check the pipe's weight and diameter to ensure you're using the right equipment. Also, keep in mind that the PL1500 through PL3500 are 30' wide, and the PL4500, PL7000, and PL8500 are 36' wide. For maintenance, regularly inspect the rubber lining on the tongs. If it's worn out, replace it to maintain a secure grip on the pipes. Store the lifter in a dry place to prevent rust and damage.
