A chalk line, also known as a chalk box, is an excellent tool. It's great for marking long, straight lines on flat surfaces. It can mark much farther than you could by hand or with a straightedge.
Using this chalk line is easy. First, open the chalk box and fill it with chalk powder. Then, stretch the line across the flat surface where you want to make a mark. Hold the line firmly at both ends, lift it slightly in the middle, and then release it. The line will snap back and leave a clear, straight chalk mark. When using, make sure the surface is clean and dry for a better mark. Also, don't over - stretch the line to avoid breakage. For maintenance, keep the chalk box clean. After each use, pour out any excess chalk powder. Store it in a cool, dry place to prevent the chalk from clumping and the line from getting damaged.
