The Makita® 18V LXT® Brushless Cordless Drywall Sander (XLS01Z, tool only) is a game-changer for drywall finishers. Its compact and lightweight design makes it a breeze to use for long periods. With up to 35 minutes of run time on a single charge of an 18V 5.0Ah battery (battery sold separately), it keeps you productive. The variable speed control dial (1,000 - 1,800 RPM) lets you match the speed to the job, and Constant Speed Control maintains performance under load. The large, highly flexible head offers great maneuverability on different wall orientations. The direct-drive BL™ Brushless Motor runs cooler and more efficiently, lasting longer. The adjustable extension pipe can collapse for confined spaces and extend up to 16-1/2” for high walls and ceilings. The removable dust brush enables seamless edge sanding. It's equipped with Auto-Start Wireless System technology (AWS®), which uses Bluetooth® to communicate with a dust extractor (sold separately), eliminating cords and excessive noise. Part of Makita's expanding 18V LXT® system, it uses batteries with fast charge times. Star Protection Computer Controls™ protect the tool and battery from overloading, over-discharging, and overheating. It's compatible with Makita® 18V LXT® and Compact Lithium-Ion Batteries with the star symbol. The tool comes with a replaceable 8-hole Hook & Loop Soft Sanding Backing Pad, and optional pads are available. It also has a large carrying tool bag and tray for easy storage and transportation. With a 3-year limited warranty, it's a reliable choice for drywall sanding.

Using the Makita 18V LXT® Brushless Cordless Drywall Sander is easy. First, make sure you have a charged 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion battery (sold separately). Insert the battery into the tool. Then, adjust the speed using the variable speed control dial according to your sanding task. For best results, start with a lower speed and gradually increase it. When sanding, hold the sander firmly with the two position rubberized soft grip handles. Use the large two-finger power trigger switch to start and stop the sander. You can lock it on for continuous operation. If you're using the AWS® function, connect the Auto-start Wireless Transmitter (sold separately) and pair it with the dust extractor. When you engage the trigger, the dust extractor will power up automatically. When sanding in confined spaces, collapse the adjustable extension pipe. For high walls and ceilings, extend it up to 16-1/2”. You can also use the optional Extension Handle for even more reach. Remember to use only genuine Makita batteries and chargers. After use, clean the sander and store it in the large carrying tool bag provided. Check the battery regularly and charge it using the Rapid Optimum Charger. Keep the tool away from water and excessive dust. If you notice any issues, like overheating or excessive load, stop using the tool immediately. The sander has an overload sensor to protect it from damage. With proper use and maintenance, your Makita drywall sander will serve you well for years.
