Using the 18V LXT® Sub-Compact Brushless Driver-Drill Kit is easy. First, insert the battery into the tool. Make sure it clicks into place. Then, select the appropriate speed setting for your task. For light drilling or driving in soft materials, use the lower speed (0 - 500 RPM). For tougher jobs, switch to the higher speed (0 - 1,700 RPM). To change the drill bit, use the 1/2 inch keyless chuck. Simply hold the chuck and turn it to loosen or tighten. When working, use the dual L.E.D. lights to illuminate the work area. They'll help you see what you're doing clearly. After use, remove the battery from the tool. Store the tool and battery in a dry place. Don't expose them to extreme heat or cold. To keep the tool in good condition, clean it regularly with a dry cloth. If it gets dirty, you can use a mild detergent. But make sure it's completely dry before storing. Also, only use genuine Makita batteries and chargers. This will protect the tool from overloading, over-discharging, and overheating.
