Hammer Screed D6

Introduced at the 2025 World of Concrete, this brand - new screed offers the same powerful action as our gas - powered ones, but without the gas engine. It's powered by a lithium battery hammer drill, perfect for applications where gas emissions are prohibited. The screed features a special 2 X 6 vibrator head and a gear box to multiply drill power for maximum vibration. Multivibe tested it with a DeWalt hammer drill (DCD996) in drill mode. A 20V battery can do five loads of concrete with half of its life remaining, and each battery provides over an hour of continuous use. It has a rigid frame with wheel - barrel type handles for full control. The tested drill has 3 speeds. Use speed 1 for working around pipes or when less vibration is needed. Use speed 2 most of the time, which can run a Multivibe screed board up to 12’. Use speed 3 only when extra vibration is required in very low - slump concrete.

Using the Hammer Screed D6 is easy. First, make sure your lithium - battery hammer drill is fully charged. Connect the drill to the screed. When starting, select the appropriate speed on the drill. For working around pipes or when you need less vibration, use speed 1. For most of your regular concrete work, speed 2 is the best choice, and it can handle a screed board up to 12’. Only use speed 3 when dealing with very low - slump concrete that needs extra vibration. Remember to keep the battery charged. If the battery runs out quickly, it might be time to replace it. After each use, clean the screed to remove any concrete residue. Check the gear box and vibrator head regularly for any signs of wear or damage. Store the screed in a dry place to prevent rusting.
