Using these tape measures is easy. Just pull out the tape from the case and place the end at the starting point of what you want to measure. Stretch it along the object and read the measurement where it ends. When using, make sure the tape is straight for an accurate measurement. Avoid pulling the tape too hard as it might damage the markings or the tape itself. After use, gently retract the tape back into the case.
